Hi Carol! Thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney!
I also noticed that
Magic Kingdom Park is scheduled to close at 7:00 pm on August 18. There may be a private event scheduled that night. I understand you are disappointed about missing
Disney Enchantment that evening, but I am going to let you in on a secret -- this will actually be a great day to visit
Magic Kingdom Park! Many other Guests will avoid this park because of the earlier closing time, which means you will find
much lighter crowds and lower wait times for attractions than on other days next week. This is also a great opportunity to take advantage of the
Park Hopper Option. You could enjoy low crowds at Magic Kingdom Park until 7:00 pm and then hop to another park to keep the fun going. It is super easy to travel to
EPCOT via
monorail, so perhaps you can head there to enjoy
Harmonious. If you don't already have the Park Hopper Option, you may be able to modify your tickets by selecting "Change Ticket" when viewing "Tickets & Passes" in your account, or by visiting a theme park ticket window or the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs to upgrade your tickets. You could then watch Disney Enchantment on a different day during your trip by hopping to Magic Kingdom Park in time for fireworks.
Carol, even without the Park Hopper Option added to your tickets, you'll still be able to view Disney Enchantment on the days it is scheduled during your trip. There are some great viewing locations outside Magic Kingdom Park! You can watch from the ferry landing at the Transportation and Ticket Center -- the music from the show is even piped in. Another good location is the marina at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While you won't be able to park here without a reservation, you are welcome to use complimentary Disney transportation or the walkway from Magic Kingdom Park to reach "The Grand". As a bonus, you could also catch the
Electrical Water Pageant prior to viewing the fireworks.
Please stop by and see us again if you have any additional questions. I hope you have a wonderful vacation!
Anne Marie
