Why does the fine print of my dinner reservation at Be Our Guest restaurant say “no characters at this time of day”? It’s a 4:20pm seating.

    Bonjour Zena!

Ma chere Mademoiselle, it is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you today, to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

We invite you to put our service to the test at the enchanting Beast’s Castle when you visit for dinner on your upcoming vacation. The Beast is known to prefer that all Guests join him for dinner, however, he can on a very rare occasion have a particularly challenging day and not make it down in time.

Be Our Guest is not specifically classified as Character Dining, and because of this, it is not listed in that fashion. When the Beast does have his fur tamed and fangs brushed, he is only available during dinner, and he prefers to meet Guests in the study, rather than visit with you at your table. While the Beast’s servants have told me that it is possible he may not come down for dinner, in my visits to the castle he has never disappointed me! If for some reason the heat has truly gotten to the Beast and he does not appear or is taking a short break, be sure speak with one of the servants as you may be able to return later in the evening to thank your gracious host in person.

I’m sure the banquet will be prepared for your visit and the napkins will be freshly pressed. I highly recommend the soup du jour. The French Onion Soup is outstanding and never second best. The Filet Mignon is a personal favorite, and for dessert, you must, of course, try The Grey Stuff, it is indeed delicious! I hope you have a delightful meal, course by course, one by one, ’til you shout (okay, maybe don’t actually shout) “enough, I'm done!” you are sure to feel the honored Guest that you are.

    Bon Appetite!
