Why does Disney black out the dates on the Military Appreciation tickets? We are traveling to Disney from 12/29-1/5 and can't get the discount. Our troops don't "black" out their days of protecting our nation, why does Disney do it to our troops?

Hi, Danielle.  You are absolutely right about the endless and tireless dedication of our men and women who serve in the military.  There are no black out days when it comes to their determination and protection, and we couldn't possibly tell you enough how much we appreciate not only their sacrifice, but the sacrifices of the families who must function for months on end without their beloved service member.

The black out dates are in place for peak periods of time. You should be able to use your Military Appreciation tickets after December 31st, however.  The current list of blackout includes dates only up to December 31st, and they should be available to be used after that date, until the next blackout period in April.

Black out dates for discounts and promotions are in place during busy holiday periods and peak travel times.  It would be so disappointing to find out a discount was offered, but due to peak crowds and theme parks filled to capacity, you weren't able to take advantage of it.  I hope you are able to use the tickets for the latter part of your vacation.

Thank you again for your sacrifice on behalf of all of us.  We do sincerely appreciate our men and women in uniform!
