Why I can't combine discovery residen tickets with dining plan when I'm planning my vacation at the website

Heigh-ho, Iris, and thanks for dropping by planDisney! Your Walt Disney World Resort visit is sparkling like a diamond in the near future, so I hope you're in countdown mode. One of the activities I look forward to the most is dining on delectable Disney food, so let's look at adding a dining plan to your stay. Like Snow White's friends, it's off to work we go!

I chatted with a not-so-dopey Cast Member who told me that dining plans can usually only be purchased by guests staying at Disney Resort hotel. Typically, dining plans are added to vacation packages consisting of theme park tickets and a hotel stay; however, a dining plan can sometimes be added to a room reservation booked separately by calling (407) 939-3463.

The Cast Member added that the Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket is a promotional offer that cannot be added to a vacation package, so that's probably why you can't create a package online.

I suggest you call for assistance because Cast Members can review your account and give you their best suggestions. Please call as soon as possible since dining plans cannot be added once you've arrived for your vacation.

If you can't add a dining plan this trip, you can still mine for gold at quick-service and table-service restaurants. You can make advanced dining reservations on your mobile app by tapping the plus sign at the bottom and selecting "Check Dining Availability." I like to filter by location to see a list of restaurants with availability near me. You can also check for walk-up availability or mobile order a quick-service meal on your app. You'll never go hungry at Walt Disney World!

Iris, I hope you'll whistle while you work up an appetite on your trip next week! Please stop by planDisney anytime.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
