Why can’t I book an appointment for the Droid Depot for March 26 and or 29?

Hello there, David, and welcome to planDisney! As the proud owner of a droid myself, I completely understand the excitement of having a trusty mechanical companion by your side. Just be sure yours doesn’t start getting any rebellious programming updates!

A recent transmission from Black Spire Outpost confirms that, beginning March 17, reservations will no longer be required for droid building. Instead, simply make your way to Droid Depot, where walk-ups are now welcome! This new policy gives you greater flexibility when assembling your custom astromech, but keep in mind that all other guidelines still apply. For instance, the building area remains limited to the builder and two Guests, and at least one person in the party must be 14 or older. For the full details, you can check out the Droid Depot page on the Disneyland website.

Also, don’t forget that additional customization pieces, like personality chips, are available for purchase. Each chip aligns your droid with a different faction in the galaxy, whether it’s the noble Rebellion, the formidable First Order, or the unpredictable Scoundrels. These chips determine how your droid interacts with its surroundings in Galaxy’s Edge, so be sure to keep your new companion activated as you roam the Outpost. You never know who (or what) it might recognize!

While you're adventuring through Batuu with your droid, you might also want to test your skills as a bounty hunter with the Batuu Bounty Hunters experience using your MagicBand+. Tracking down targets across Black Spire Outpost is an immersive way to embrace your inner mercenary of the Outer Rim. This free-to-play adventure, available through the Play Disney Parks app, takes you on an exciting hunt throughout Batuu—and if you keep your eyes open, you might even spot a familiar face or two along the way. A Q-Tip from my own experience: pay close attention to special markings around the Outpost. They may just point you toward your next target!

With so much happening in the galaxy far, far away, it’s an incredible time to be a Star Wars fan! If you have any other questions, feel free to return to planDisney.

May the Force be with you!
