Hello! My whole family will be at Disney world in May and I was wondering if it was possible to do a pregnancy announcement during a fireworks show? Thanks so much!

As Mrs. Potts sang in Beauty and the Beast, there's something there that wasn't there before, Lyna, and it's a baby on the way! I'm so happy you stopped by with this magical question because we love planning reveals here at planDisney. I see your visit is a few weeks away, so let's see what ideas we can come up with to make your announcement "ever a surprise."

When I think of fireworks and nighttime spectaculars at Walt Disney World Resort, I think of wonder, beauty....and crowds. These shows are amazing, but they're also extremely popular. And loud! My first thought is that there might be a better atmosphere for your surprise. How about something a bit more focused on your family?

I don't know if space is available this close to your visit, but you could check availability for a Capture Your Moment photo session. These 20-minute sessions are with professional Disney PhotoPass Photographers, and you can choose spots around any of the four theme parks as your backdrop. Of course, your family could know about the photo shoot, but you could surprise them during the session by pulling out some tot-sized Mickey ears with "Baby" embroidered on them. I've also seen guests use onesies, baby booties, or Disney plush to reveal announcements. Whatever props you choose, your family will be surprised and thrilled, and the best part of all is the photographer will capture everyone's reaction! You can talk to a Cast Member about your plans before your visit by calling (407) 939-7758.

Lyna, if you can't book a session, you can still gather your family at a PhotoPass spot for your surprise reveal. You can find available locations in your My Disney Experience Mobile App by tapping the map icon at the bottom of your home screen, then tapping the dropdown menu at the top center and sorting by PhotoPass. You can see spots on the map where complimentary photographers will be in real-time, and I am confident they will work with you on your surprise. I'd suggest somewhere less crowded, like the Wishing Well behind Cinderella Castle.

Congratulations on the new little one, and stop by planDisney anytime, Lyna. Certain as the sun rises in the East, your little beauty will be here before you know it!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
