What do I do if I reserve character meals and my 4 yr old son is scared? Can I cancle the remaining reservations without penalty? Or do you suggest trying them anyway to see if he warms up to it? I want him to enjoy himself, but I need for him to eat too!

    Hi Buffy,

I know the feeling about the character meals. My Nicole was not a fan of the characters when she was little. But we had to eat!

The characters come over to your table, and they will not interact with a child who is scared. They will wave from a distance and their interaction is based on how your son is reacting to them.

When you arrive at the table, you will be told what the pattern is for the characters to visit your table. You then can judge if you should greet the character or be conveniently at the buffet table during the visit!

Check with Disney Dining on the cancellation policy for each restaurant. Many do not have a penalty for no show on meals. If you do need to cancel, it is usually 48 hours without penalty.

I hope you have a magical trip!
