When we've been to DisneyWorld before, I noticed that sometimes they have kids riding on some of the floats with the characters. How do you get to do this? This will be our third trip with our three grandkids. They would LOVE to do this. Please advise.

    Hi Patricia,

What lucky grandkids, to be traveling to Disney World with their grandparents. The parades are one of my favorite things to do while on property. I love to watch the beautiful floats with the characters and music.

There are a few opportunities for guests to take part in the various Disney parades and as you can imagine, these spots are hard to obtain. Occassionally these partcipants are there as special guests, like Make A Wish families. Other times, select Disney Cast Members throughout the park are on the lookout for guests to participate in the parades. We were approached one time while waiting for Playhouse Disney at Hollywood Studios and asked to join in the afternoon parade. There is no specific time or place that guests are selected, however the earlier you are at the park, the better your chances are to be selected.

Last tip I can give is to have fun. Cast members are looking for guests who are enjoying their time at Disney World to share in the magic. Wishing you lots of pixie dust and a magical trip.
