    Hi! We've already booked our vacation for December 2008 for New Years. We are a group of 8+ and I know we qualify for a Grand Gathering. Would you happen to know the schedule of when the Illuminations/Dessert Reception is like for this time frame?

    What an exciting time to be in Disney!  I have always wanted to visit during this time.

    You absolutely qualify for the Grand Gathering.  I have used this service with my family and found it very helpful.  Here is the link http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/special/magicalgatherings/ggLandingPage?id=GrandGatheringsLandingPage so you can quickly look up anything I have missed in your answer.

    You can book the International Dinner and Illuminations Dessert Reception for your group 180 days prior-this is around July 1 depending on when your vacation falls.
