Welcome aboard, Patricia! Your family is going to have a magical experience on the Western Caribbean cruise with Disney!
My favorite dolphin swim is at Blue Lagoon in Nassau, but since you won't be heading there on this cruise, let me just say that you really can't go wrong with any of the dolphin experiences on the Western itinerary. I have heard rave reviews about them all, but I've had more friends tell me they've really enjoyed the dolphin experiences at Chankanaab National Park in Cozumel. There, they offer both the
Dolphin Push, Pull and Swim as well as the
Dolphin Discovery. For your family members who won't be swimming with the dolphins, they can simply book the Dolphin Discovery Observer at a reduced cost to come along (perhaps as your personal photographer)!
One thing that appeals to me about this particular location is that not only will you get to meet and interact with these beautiful creatures, but you'll get to stay at the park afterwards to explore the replicas of archeological sites, gardens, pool, beach and even a sea lion show!
The other dolphin experiences on the Western Itinerary are wonderful, and since I personally haven't experienced these, I can't tell you which to book for sure. I do know, though, that Disney works hard to ensure the most magical experiences for guests, so they work with tour operators who will deliver that. So, book whichever best fits your family, but know that either way, you're in for a great experience! When my daughter and I swam with the dolphins in Nassau it was such a wonderful time. Those creatures are so kind, gentle and intriguing. They are so smart, you'll be amazed as you get to enjoy your up close encounter. Have fun planning, Patricia!
