Hello, I went to WDW on April 2017. I will go again on March 2020. This time I will stay off site. I have the magic bands that In used in 2017. Can I use them on March 2020? How do I know if they still work?. They are activate as I see in MDE. Thanks

    Hi Georgina,

Hooray! I’m thrilled to hear that you’ll soon be returning to “The Most Magical Place on Earth!” You’ll LOVE enjoying all of your favorite attractions, shows, and characters again, PLUS there will also be lots of fun, new experiences to discover! I wonder what your favorites will be this time?

MagicBands are reusable, so that’s great that you held on to the ones from your last visit, and you're exactly right that they will need to be marked as "Active" in your My Disney Experience account. As long as the batteries are still working, you’ll be able to use them on your next trip, too. Unfortunately there’s no real way to know if your batteries are working or not until you arrive, but they’re supposed to last for several years, so your chances are pretty good that they’ll still work. If they don’t, you’ll be able to either use a complimentary card or purchase new MagicBands, which can then be linked to your My Disney Experience account. I'm sending some pixie dust that your previous ones will work just fine for you, though!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Georgina, and please come see us again if we can help with anything else as you're thinking through all the details of your next visit. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
