Hi Brandy! I'm so glad you enjoyed your sailing on the Magic last year so much that you've rebooked to sail on the gorgeous Disney Fantasy later this year!
My family is one of those that loves to participate in the Fish Extender exchanges, and you'll also find our door adorned with a variety of personalized magnets. As long as the door decorations are magnetic (and not adhered with tape which can ruin the paint), you are free to decorate with magnets galore! We usually buy magnetic printable sheets, design our own with our names and the cruise dates, and then print them out and cut them at home. It's a nice way to be sure you don't miss your door in those long hallways!
Fish Extender Exchanges are not sponsored by Disney Cruise Line. Do a google search for "Disney Cruise Fish Extender Groups", and you'll see forums, like the Disboards, pop up where you can find your specific ship and sail date and meet up with other guests sailing at the same time as you. Those guests then organize these Secret Santa-type exchanges among themselves, setting their own guidelines. I hope you find one for your cruise!
I want to thank your husband for his service to our country, and not only him, but your entire family as well, as I know that when a parent is overseas with the military, it's a whole family experience and you give up a lot without him there. Check out the
Celebration Packages available for pre-order on Disney Cruise Line's website. You might like to have a surprise waiting to greet him as you all enter your stateroom. Also, be sure to call Disney Cruise Line to add a note to your reservation saying that you'll be celebrating your husband's return from deployment. Though I cannot guarantee it, Cast Members love to go out of their way to surprise guests who are celebrating!
Have fun planning and let me know if I can help with anything else before you set sail this fall!
