We went to Disneyland last year on military discount & going again this year. Is it possible to use a color photocopy of our military ID when getting tickets from the booth or do we need the hard ID in hand. We don't want to lose the ID in the park

Hello, Ed, and welcome to planDisney, where we would like to offer a Mickey Mouse-sized thank you for your family's service. My husband spent time in the military, so I understand the rigors of that life. You deserve to enjoy some time at the Happiest Place on Earth! So let's look at how you can activate your Disney Military Promotional Park Hopper Tickets!

Ed, I spoke with a Cast Member who said the main gate will ask to see your official physical Military ID to activate your tickets. Since they will not accept copies or photos, you should plan to bring your Military ID along. I understand your hesitancy to carry around such an important piece of documentation at the theme parks, so I have one idea that might ease your mind.

You can rent lockers inside both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. There are even lockers available in the esplanade between the two park entrances. Once you've activated your tickets, you could put all your valuables in a locker for safekeeping. A bonus is that you could also put souvenirs and jackets in the locker, so you don't have to carry them around all day! Lockers are reasonably priced and subject to availability, so I'd recommend grabbing one as soon as you arrive.

Ed, I hope your family plans to see the Flag Retreat Ceremony on Main Street, USA. This time-honored ceremony began on Disneyland Resort's opening day in 1955, and Cast Members continued the tradition during the pandemic closure. The event typically starts around sunset, and you can check the park's daily schedule or ask a Cast Member for exact times and details. Your family will surely enjoy this patriotic activity; mine certainly does.

Ed, I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney! Please feel free to reach out anytime. We'd love to help, and thanks again for your service.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
