Hi Jill, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. I’d be happy to help get you set up with the
My Disney Experience app so you’re ready for your vacation this summer!
If you already have your own My Disney account, you can log out of your husband's account in the app by selecting ☰ in the lower right corner and scrolling to Log Out at the bottom of that next screen. Then go back to the home screen (select the house icon in the bottom left corner) and press the Log In button.
But, if your husband manages your profile and any others who are coming on the trip in June, you’ll have to take a few extra steps to be able to log into the app. First, you’ll need to take control of your profile. Have your husband go to his
Family & Friends List on the Disney World website. He should see your name under Guests You Manage. If there are any kiddos under that section, we’ll talk a bit later about how you'll control their profiles. Next, have your husband click Manage next to your name and the option to invite you to sign in and plan on your own will appear. Guests need to be 13 years of age or older to create a My Disney account, so you won’t see this option under the profiles of any little ones. Finally, go into your email to find the invitation and create a My Disney account. Now you can log into the app.
There’s just one last step to make sure you can manage any kiddos whose profiles your husband created (the ones that were showing up under Guests You Manage). Your husband has to go back into his Family & Friends List and find you under Connections. Have him click the Edit Settings button to the right of your name. Under settings, click the Connect My Managed Guests button, check the boxes next to the children’s names, and then click Send Invite. You’ll receive another email inviting you to connect with their profiles. Once that’s confirmed, you’ll be able to make and modify plans for the whole family!
If you’re having any issues, give the
My Disney Experience phone number a call and a Cast Member would be happy to help.
Now that you’re logged into your own profile in the My Disney Experience app, you’ve got lots of time-saving tools at your fingertips, like purchasing
Lightning Lane Passes and using
merchandise mobile checkout at select gift shops. My most used feature is
mobile food ordering, which is great for avoiding lines, but also for previewing menus with pictures. It really helps when I can’t decide what I want to eat!
I hope you have a most magical visit to Disney World in June! If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to come back to planDisney.
