Ahoy, Julianne!
Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm always blown away by the creativity Guests display on the
stateroom doors aboard Disney Cruise Line. My crew always tries to walk the hallways on every deck so we can check out as many doors as possible. We also get into the fun by decorating our door! Not only does it look festive, also it makes it easy to spot as we navigate our way to and from our stateroom.
Julianne, I've made my own signs and even a Mickey-themed wreath to decorate our stateroom door and also purchased some from the Etsy website. When I created my own, I designed what I wanted on my computer and printed them myself. I had them laminated at an office supply store and placed strong magnets on the back. Magnetic signs are the only type allowed on Disney Cruise Line because tape or any other type of adhesive material (including gel clings) can damage the doors. Ordering from Etsy is convenient if you aren't interested in a do-it-yourself project, and you'll find a lot of customizable options there. You can include your sail date and ship, family name, Castaway Club level, itinerary information and favorite characters. And if you don't have time to make your own or order from Etsy, the merchandise shops onboard all four ships offer some fun options as well! They will open around 5:00 p.m. on embarkation day so you can have your door decorated by the first night. These decorations can be used on multiple cruises and included in your souvenir stash! I've kept all mine from the past and have them displayed on the side of my refrigerator and on the door going out to my garage. They are daily reminders of all our magical sailings aboard Disney Cruise Line.
Good luck with your door decor, Julianne. Have fun and be creative!
