Lisa, I took a look at both the
Park Rules and the
Guest Courtesy and Attire Policies and confirmed that there is currently no policy specifically regarding weighted vests. The Attire Policy does state that clothing with multiple layers is subject to search, so a weighted vest may have to go through additional screening. This means that you should expect to have your vest searched, which occurred before. Park Rules do also state the security Cast Members do reserve the right to not allow any item onto Disney property that may impact Guest or Cast Member safety. While I can’t say why your specific vest was not permitted, there may have been a concern specific to that particular item
If you would like to discuss bringing a specific weighted vest (whether it is your current vest or an alternative), you may want to call
Disneyland Resort General Information. There, a friendly Cast Member will be able to talk through your vest in detail and give you additional guidance prior to your next park visit.
