I am on Weight Watchers. To calculate points, I need to know the carbs, fiber, protein, and fat in each dish I eat. Is this info available at Disney World restaurants, or should I let Disney know in advance where I'm dining so I can have menus sent to me?

Hi, Amy!  Walt Disney World does not generally provide specific menu information, as the menus can change without notice, and substitutions in preparation can be made as necessary.  That can be a bit frustrating for people with special dietary needs or diet requirements, but I do have some advice that I think may help you.

There is plenty of easy access to fresh cut fruit all over Walt Disney World.  Use that as your go to snack when you get hungry.  Stay really well hydrated - now is a great time to get in all that water your supposed to be drinking!  Famiiarize yourself now with what a portion size is equal to.  If you know there are 3 points in a three ounce portion of chicken, for example, you can size up a meal at Walt Disney World and get pretty close to figuring out points.

Start your meals with a salad.  It will help fill you up with lots of zero point vegetables.  Get your dressing on the side, and just dip your fork into the dressing before you spear your veggies.  You'll get the taste of dressing in every bite without the calories of pouring dressing over the whole salad.

Eat your vegetable sides first, and do your best to stay on the lower end of your carbs.  If you eat a sandwich or burger for lunch, skip the carbs at dinner.

If you have a pedometer, now is a good time to use it!  You may be amazed at how much walking you do, and that will give you a few points to play with!  Oh - and use your bonus points for a treat!  Don't go all the way back to Jersey regretting being on a diet during vacation - allow yourself one of your Disney favorite snacks!
