Ahoy there, Kami,
Welcome aboard planDisney! You are so close to embarking on an amazing
Disney Cruise Line vacation and it sounds like you are getting your
packing list ready. So let's get you ready to set sail!
I’m happy to let you know that each Guest may board with a reasonable amount of clothing and personal effects, not to exceed two checked bags per person. The checked bags do not have to comply with specific dimensions or weight. You will need to store your luggage in your stateroom so keep that in mind as you pack. Oh, and remember to place your
Disney Cruise Line luggage tags on your bags prior to arriving at the port terminal!
Each Guest is also allowed one carry-on (measuring no greater than 14 inches wide, 9 inches deep and 22 inches in height in order to fit in the security scanning at the port) as well as one personal bag. I recommend that you place anything you may need as soon as you board the ship in your carry-on bag. I always include the basics like sunscreen and a refillable water bottle, but also remember to pack any medications, valuables, and your cruise documents and identification in your carry-on. Now, you will need to keep your carry-on and personal item with you from the time you board until your stateroom is ready, which could be a few hours later.
Over the years, I’ve opted for bringing fewer things in my luggage so that I can make sure to save a little room in my suitcase for souvenirs like the specially designed
Disney Cruise Line merchandise from
Mickey’s Mainsail or a local souvenir from one of the ports of call.
Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question, Kami, and we hope to see you again real soon!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
