Hi Lee-Anne, welcome to planDisney!
Your visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort is only two weeks away, so the anticipation and excitement must be through the charts! Around this time, when I am headed to Disney, my bags are packed, and I am already brushing up on my monorail announcement: “Please stand clear of the doors. Por favor manténgase alejado de las puertas.”
Lee-Anne, I completely understand why you do not want to be on your mobile device during your vacation. I feel like I am on my phone 24/7 for work, and the last thing I want to do is to be connected to it while trying to relax and spend time with my family. You can absolutely get a physical Key to the World card upon arrival at any
Disney Resort or
Guest Relations window at the entrance to one of the theme parks. This card will allow you to access your Disney hotel room, enter the parks, and purchase food and merchandise.
Another option for you and your family would be to purchase
MagicBands. A MagicBand is a fun and stylish way to enjoy all the same perks as your Key to the World card but on your wrist! The MagicBand+ also interacts with various features around Walt Disney World.
One thing to mention, Lee-Anne, is that while the Key to the World card or MagicBand will disconnect you from your phone, if you want to take advantage of the
Lightning Lane Multi Pass fully and continuously book new Lightning Lanes throughout the day, you might still need to have your phone handy. This would be done through the
My Disney Experience app.
I hope this answers your question. If you’d like me to dive deeper into my preferred method of accessing all the magic,
submit me another question. If you think purchasing MagicBands may interest you, I have some favorite locations to recommend with plenty of options. No matter which route you choose, I have no doubts that you will have a fantastic vacation visiting The Most Magical Place On Earth!
See you real soon,
Brent
