I have 8,10, & 11y/o & a wedding in Dec I cannot take them to. Wedding is at 5pm & all child care options I have found, other than in-room open @ 5pm. In-room says will not take them out of the room. Anyone have other options?

    Hi, Donna!

The Pixar Play Zone does only begin taking check ins at 5 PM, so it wouldn't work for a 5 o'clock wedding. I do know guests who have used Kids Nite Out, and they have been able to arrange to have the children taken to dinner or for a walk around the resort. I don't believe they can take them to do any water related activities.

A friend of mine recently used someone recommended to her through Care.com. They did a search before leaving for a vacation sitter, and they were able to use the same person two different evenings. The woman did take her children to the food court for dinner.

Most of the in-room sitters do bring a variety of age appropriate activities for the children to do while you are gone. Anytime I've had to use a sitter during a Walt Disney World vacation, I always made it a big deal for the kids to get to order room service or watch a DVD of their choosing.

Reach out to the services directly, as opposed to online, and check to see what the limitations are to taking the children out of the room. You may find that they can still go to the Movies Under the Stars or some outdoor activity at least at your resort.

Good luck and have a great time at the wedding!
