Hi there, Amanda! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for sending over another excellent question!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has some of the most interesting dining locations at Walt Disney World Resort.
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is definitively one of the more unique experiences you can have while dining at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! This tropical tiki bar is tucked away into one of the corners of the resort and can easily be passed by if you didn’t know what you were looking for. This hidden charm really adds to the experience, though, it did take me more than a few passes to actually find the door! Once inside, you instantly feel as though you have been transported to a tropical hideaway thousands of miles away from the mainland. The delicious themed drinks and eats further sell the South Seas environment. It should also be noted that Guests under the age of 21 years are welcome prior to 8:00pm. After this time, Guests must be 21 years or older in order to visit.
While certain drinks may be taken with you when you leave Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, Guests cannot currently order their food to-go. However, you can always stop by
Capt. Cook’s which is located right next door. You can find many Hawaiian delicacies at this quick service dining location that may be taken with you to view fireworks on the beach. I would highly recommend the Pan Asian Noodles and Vegetables for a tasty, to-go dinner!
I hope you and your family enjoy your evening picnic on the beach of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort!
