Welcome aboard, Ashley! It sounds like your family is getting ready to set sail with Disney Cruise Line this winter!
You didn't mention which itinerary or ship you're sailing on, but no matter if you're sailing
the Caribbean on the Fantasy, Wonder, or Magic, or you're heading to
the Bahamas on the Dream, you're in for some summer-like temperatures. The Bahamas tend to have highs in the upper 70's in January, making a Disney Dream vacation simply perfect! And the Caribbean boasts even warmer average temperatures, with highs typically in the low 80's. Pack summer attire, for sure. But, even in warmer climates like these, evenings at sea can be a bit breezy, so I always have a light jacket or sweater with me for chillier nights out on deck, just in case. Plus, I get a bit cold in the restaurants at times too, with the air conditioning, so having that one sweater or jacket in your bag is always a good idea!
Your children will have the time of their lives swimming in the pools on the ship when you are at sea. The pools are always at a great temperature. In fact, the pools are heated if the temperature drops below 75 degrees, so no need to fear chilly water! I must say, though, that if you are sailing on the Dream or Fantasy with the
AquaDuck, or the Magic with the
AquaDunk, the water in those two thrill rides is cooler than the pools, so be aware! It's certainly worth braving a quick gush of cold water, though, as those rides are such fun!
Have fun as you continue planning for your winter cruise with Disney, Ashley!
