Welcome aboard, Allison!
Ah,
Castaway Cay... one of my favorite places in the whole world. I love escaping to Disney's private island paradise when we set sail with Disney Cruise Line. It's always one of my family's favorite ports of call because everything that we could want is included and there just isn't anywhere quite as relaxing and beautiful as this spot in the Bahamas!
You should enjoy gorgeous weather this spring when you're sailing in the
Bahamas. The average temperatures in May tend to include lows in the 70's and highs in the mid 80's, so expect summer-like weather! It does get hot on the islands, but pack a light jacket or sweater for the cooler and breezier days at sea and nights out on deck. I also get chilly inside the ship especially in the theaters and restaurants, so I always have an extra layer handy just in case.
I'm a total cold water chicken, so it's got to be pretty warm for me to get in the water of a pool or ocean. However, onboard, the temperatures of the pool are lovely. The
pools are heated if the temperatures drop below 75 degrees, so it's always a great experience. And if we're talking ocean swimming... if I can
snorkel at Castaway Cay in February with no problem, you're sure to wade right into even warmer waters on the island in May, so get those swim suits ready, Allison!
Have a lot of fun as you count down to the big sail date. Please stop back again with any other questions you might have before you head out to sea with Captain Mickey and his crew. We're always happy to help!
