Hiya Marion!
Welcome to planDisney! I truly am spoiled by the
nighttime spectaculars and shows at Walt Disney World Resort. I see fireworks shows at any other park or location and it is just not the same. The Walt Disney Imagineers just know how to bottle magic, emotion, and joy and display it perfectly for guests to enjoy.
Sometimes, the weather does not always cooperate for these special performances and you may find yourself woefully waiting for the show to begin. On these occasions, Cast Members do a great job of letting guests know if a show is delayed or canceled. You will hear announcements throughout the Park about the show's status. Sometimes the show will be delayed and sometimes it will be cancelled but it will not be known till that evening. Walt Disney World Resort will do everything possible to "let the show go on" but safety is always the top priority. I sometimes have my husband keep an eye on the weather radar and if it looks like a dangerous storm with high winds I plan to just consider the show canceled and enjoy some attractions before leaving. I have sometimes just asked Cast Members what their opinion is on the likelihood of the show still occurring that night and I trust their experience and judgment.
I always recommend a good snack while you wait for the evening. A delay is easier to handle on a full stomach. My favorite to enjoy while waiting for
Happily Ever After is mini corn dogs from
Casey's Corner. My planDisney panelist friend
Amy C. and I are huge fans and we want to remind you to get the cheese sauce for dipping!
I hope this helps and that you have a magical time no matter the weather!
Happy Planning!
