Do you have to wear a costume to participate in the trick or treating? I want to take part but after being at the hot park all day I don’t think I’ll be able to put up with a costume!

    Hi Melissa!

I’m so glad you’re excited about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - it’s one of the most fang-tastic events at Walt Disney World!

No worries - you don’t have to wear a costume to have a spooktacular time, especially if you're feeling batty after a long, hot day at the park.

While costumes are a fun part of the event, they’re completely optional. Tons of guests show up in Halloween spirit without a full costume, and you can absolutely do the same! You can still join in the trick-or-treating fun, where Cast Members will load you up with plenty of candy as you stroll through the trick-or-treat trails in Magic Kingdom Park. If you want to add a dash of festivity without the full costume, try sporting a Halloween-themed t-shirt, some light-up Mickey ears, or even a pumpkin headband - it’s a simple way to get into the spooky spirit without melting like a wicked witch in the Florida heat!

The magic doesn’t end with candy! There’s a cauldron full of things to enjoy:

Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade: Don’t miss the parade where you’ll see all your favorite Disney characters in their Halloween best, and look out for those grim grinning ghosts from the Haunted Mansion

Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular: The skies come alive with a bewitching display of fireworks that will have you saying, "It’s frightfully delightful!"

Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular: Join the Sanderson Sisters for a wickedly fun stage show filled with all the most dastardly Disney villains and some magical mayhem.

You’ll find plenty of rare characters out and about for meet-and-greets, including Jack Skellington and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and some of your favorite Disney friends dressed in their Halloween costumes! (I mean, what’s cuter than Stitch dressed like Elvis?)

So, whether you're rocking a full costume or keeping it casual, you’re still in for a howling good time! Trick-or-treating, entertainment, and all the boo-tiful Halloween decorations make this night one of the most frightfully fun-filled events of the year. Just remember, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is all about having fun, no matter what you're wearing!

Get ready for a night filled with candy, cobwebs, and Halloween magic!
