Jambo, Patricia!
I’m so excited to hear you’ll be enjoying the
Starlight Safari on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! It’s an awesome nighttime adventure where you’ll board an open-air safari vehicle and venture into the savannas of
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to spot animals like zebras, giraffes, and gazelles using night-vision goggles. It’s such a cool experience since it takes place in the dark, offering a whole new perspective on the wildlife! The safari lasts about 1 hour, so it's a perfect after-dinner activity or a standalone adventure if you're arriving just for the experience.
I’m happy to tell you that yes, you can park at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge if you have a reservation for the Starlight Safari! Guests with dining or experience reservations, such as the Starlight Safari, are allowed to park at the resort for the duration of their reservation.
When you arrive at the resort, simply let the security guard at the gate know that you have a reservation for the Starlight Safari. They’ll confirm your reservation and direct you to the self-parking area. Parking is complimentary while you're enjoying your safari.
If you’re staying longer or want to have dinner at one of the resort’s incredible restaurants, like
Jiko - The Cooking Place,
Boma - Flavors of Africa, or
Sanaa, be sure to mention this to the Cast Member at the gate. They’re typically accommodating if you have additional reservations, but parking may be limited, especially during peak times. If you’re spending an extended amount of time, valet parking is another option for a fee.
If possible, arrive a little before your reservation to explore the gorgeous Animal Kingdom Lodge! The lobby is stunning, and you can even head out to the viewing areas to catch a glimpse of the animals on the savanna.
I hope you have a wild and magical time at the Starlight Safari!
