Can we wear clothing over our swmsuits at the pools and waterparks?

There is no specific attire requirement at Disney's pools and water parks - other than that you need to be attired.

The exceptions to the no-dress-code policy are that diaper-age children need to have appropriate swim diapers when they are in the water, and that clothing with rivets or exposed metal is prohibited at the water parks. The rationale for the diaper rule seems obvious. The reason for the no-metal rule at the water parks is that metal rivets, buckles and other embellishments can scratch and damage the surface of the slides.

As for walking around the pool and water park area, you can wear whatever you want. I have often been poolside at WDW wearing a cover-up or even full clothing over my swimsuit. And now that my kids are older and can swim on their own, I will sometimes go to the pool with them in regular clothing and sit in a chair watching them from the sidelines.

I have also seen guests in the water wearing a swim shirt (a good idea for sun-sensitive folks in the summer) or even a t-shirt over their suits.

Enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World.
