We are going to WDW with a 5 years and 1 year old for 2 days before heading to Disney Cruise and are debating which park is more suitable for them beside MK. AK or Epcot?

Hi, Helen!  My kids all really love Disney's Animal Kingdom, but if you are looking for a park with lots of rides, it might not work for you.

Animal Kingdom has one of our favorite things to do - the Kilimanjaro Safari.  You are taken through the savannah, where you might see elephants, giraffes, lions, and many other of the magnificent animals that call this theme park home.  The Festival of the Lion King show is almost Broadway calibre, and Finding Nemo is a kid favorite.

My girls enjoy the train ride over to Rafiki's Planet Watch.  There is a petting zoo there, and usually some character meet and greets.  They could also spend quite a bit of time at DinoLand.  And a visit to the park is not complete without doing the Maharajah Jungle Trek, where you might see tigers and bats, or Pangani Forest Trail, where you are likely to find the gorillas.

EPCOT for children this age has Journey Into Imagination, and Ellen's Energy Adventure.  You can do the Nemo ride at the Living Seas with Nemo and Friends.  As a little girl, my oldest daughter would just go from country to country in the World Showcase and watch the entertainment.  She loved Off Kilter at the Canada Pavilion and the British comedy troupe.

You'll have to decide what your kids might be more into, but if it were up to me, I think my kids would rather do Animal Kingdom.  In addition to the rides and attractions, they love the new Picnic in the Park, and we all enjoy Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade.  It's also a park we can do over the course of a day, and be back at the resort in our jammies at a reasonable hour!
