Hi, I am going to WDW in about 2.5 weeks and am wondering if you can charge everything you buy at WDW to your room? Even miscellaneous items like ice cream and cookies from the bakery? Or do you need to carry cash on you too?

You can charge almost everything at WDW, including purchases at stores, most restaurants, most small snack carts, etc. We almost always charge our popcorn and Mickey ice creams purchased in the parks back to our hotel room. There are some people who go to the parks with just their Key to the World card. However, I do usually bring some cash into the parks with me as well. Often I don't use my cash, but I like having at least $20-40 on my person at all times in case something unforeseen happens. For example, on a few occasions, I ended up needing to take a cab back to my resort because someone is not feeling well. This is only possible with cash. Also, you will need a small amount of cash at your resort to tip housekeeping, bell services, and any valets you might use.

I will also caution you that if you're going to be charging a lot to your room, you will likely be asked for a photo ID at some point. When I was at WDW in July, I made several purchases in the theme park shops that were over $50. When this happened I was asked to show photo ID as well as my room key for charging.

Have a wonderful trip to WDW!
