We are going to WDW and staying at BLT with our friends that are in the DVC. We would like to add a dining plan to the reservation. How do we pay for our family of four and their family of four separately?

    Hi Janey!

How exciting to be taking a Walt Disney World Vacation with your friends! I will warn you though, that staying with them at Disney’s Bay Lake Tower may spoil you with it’s spacious rooms and amazing location.

Adding the Disney Dining Plan will need to be done by the Member. They can either add the Disney Dining Plan online on the DVC Website, or they can call Member Services. Of course, you can always write a check for your portion and give that to your friend, and they can pay for everyone at once. If you prefer not to use a check, I think the easiest way to split the bill between two families is to use a Disney Gift Card. You can purchase a Disney Gift Card in the amount of the Disney Dining Plan, then give the gift card number to the Member. They can use that to pay for your portion of the Disney Dining Plan, then either use their own Disney Gift Card or their credit card to pay for their portion.

You can purchase Disney Gift Cards in the exact amount you need either at a Disney Store, or online at the Disney Gift Card Website. You can also find Disney Gift Cards in either $50 or $100 denominations at retailers that sell gift cards such as Target. You can combine those individual cards on the Disney Gift Card Website up to $1000 on a single card, in order to keep the number of cards more manageable. I hope that helps, Janey. Please do let us know if you have any additional question we can help you with.

Happy Planning and enjoy Disney’s Bay Lake Tower!
