We are going to WDW in September for the first time, we want to take our 7 year old to the BBB, I was wondering if the dresses are worth the extra money, are they good quality costumes?

    Hi Crystal,

The dresses sold in the parks and at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are of good quality. They are well made of fairly nice fabric. But they are quite expensive. The dress alone costs about $70, and that doesn't include any of the accessories like shoes, wands, etc. I have three daughters who would have LOVED these costumes when they were younger.

As for the "is it worth it" question, that depends a bit on your personal finances and your daughter's interests. There is absolutely no requirement that girls getting the BBB makeover purchase a dress there. You're welcome to bring one from home or just wear regular street clothes. In my experience, you can often find Disney branded princess costumes for around $20 at Walmart or Target. If your daughter will only wear the dress once or twice, then by all means go for the cheaper version.

If you're in the mood to splurge AND your daughter is a true princess fan who will wear the dress over and over again, then getting the dress at WDW may make more sense.

Whichever option you choose, I'm sure your little princess will look like a dream after her BBB experience.

    Enjoy!
