We are going to WDW sept 19-25. I am wondering if it worth planning our day around EMH or should we avoid those parks because they are more crowed those day. Thank you

Hi, Kathleen!  I go back and forth on whether or not it is worth it to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours, or if it's better to skip the park and avoid the crowds.  My feeling at the moment is, well, it depends!

I love the Extra Magic Hours in the morning.  First, I like beating the heat by getting up and out earlier, and I really feel like I can get a pretty good amount accomplished in that hour in the morning.  However, I also always find myself leaving by late morning or early afternoon, because once the extra magic hours are over, you often have the influx of resort guests in the park taking advantage of the EMH, then you have everyone else who decides to come to the park that day, and it just always seems more crowded to me.

If you can take advantage of the EMH and then move on to another park, I think it's a great way to utilize a perk of staying on Walt Disney World property.  If you have to commit to that park all day, you might want to consider whether or not you would have a better time not contending with crowds at another park.

As a side note, you may find at the time of year you are going, crowds will be a little bit lighter anyway.  If you arrive, visit a park without EMH, and find that the crowds are really quite tolerable, it might not be such a bad idea to get in the extra park time with the EMH after all.

I hope I didn't add more confusion!  Bottom line - recommended, but with explanation!
