    Will be at WDW in Sept. and staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I have read that it is inconvenient to get to parks other than AK due to distance and that it's better to rent a car than use the buses. Is this true? We were planning on using the buses only.

    I am quite partial to the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  We love it so much we purchased a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) ownership there!

    It's true that it is the most remotely located of all Disney resorts.  It is surrounded by animal savannahs and the themeing is rural Africa, so the seclusion is a must.  It gives the resort a very authentic and peaceful feel, and is just strikingly beautiful.

    Because of this, you will need to take a bus to all of the theme parks - there is no walking or monorail access here.  However, we've never found the Disney transportation system to be a problem, and we rely on it when we visit,  I think that staying there as opposed to staying at another resort will probably add 10 minutes to your transportation time.  I believe that's  very small price to pay for the ambience of the Anmial Kingdom Lodge.  I'll be staying there in September myself!
