We will be in WDW Sept 16-22 and we have the Disney dining plan. I know the the QS and the TS meals both come with a dessert. Is there a way that we can trade the QS dessert for an extra beverage or even fruit or a side instead?

Hi, Brian!  The plan officially prohibits exchanging dessert for something like a side dish or an appetizer, but you may find that at some locations, fresh fruit or a fruit plate might be an option for your dessert credit.  I have a friend who has asked to exchange dessert for bottled water at a quick service location, but this is purely at the discretion of the restaurant manager as opposed to something officially sanctioned by the rules of the dining plan.

I've had restaurants box up dessert for me, and we have often taken it back to our resort to enjoy later.  Sometimes, we're just way too full to eat it with our meal!

I hope this helps with your planning!
