Hi Wendy, and welcome to planDisney. Workouts definitely feel more magical at Disney! So, I’d be happy to chat about the running trails at Disney World and share some of my favorites.
On the
Running Trails page, you’ll find a list of which Disney Resort hotels have paths to get in a workout and the mileage. I really love running along Seven Seas Lagoon between the
Grand Floridian Resort and
Polynesian Resort because who wouldn’t want to work out with a view of Cinderella Castle in the distance?! This route is about a mile, but if you’re looking for something longer, you can extend the run by going between the Transportation & Ticket Center and the
Contemporary Resort. I ran this path when I was training for the Disney Princess Half Marathon, and it was fun to go by the different resort hotels and Magic Kingdom. However, it’s not the best option if you like to maintain a consistent pace because you have to go through Magic Kingdom’s security checkpoint and the crowds in the entrance area.
Other paths I love include running through the campsite loops at
Fort Wilderness Resort (where you can see all of the fun Disney decorations that guests put up on their sites) and the different areas of
Art of Animation Resort (where you’ll find spots themed to Cars, The Lion King, and The Little Mermaid). The Art of Animation Resort running trail can be combined with the one at
Pop Century Resort for a path that’s around three miles.
Since you love running, definitely check out the
runDisney races. Running through the theme parks is such a magical experience, not to mention the characters, entertainment, and supportive spectators and runners. Ever since my first runDisney race, I’ve been hooked!
I hope this helps you find the practically perfect place to run while you’re at Disney World. And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney!
