do any of the WDW resorts offer a room with a recliner or chaise lounge for someone who is not able to lie flat due to a bad back?

Hi, Eric!  It can be a struggle to travel when you have specific needs, and I know that Walt Disney World does their best to accommodate as much as possible.  There aren't room that have reclining chairs in them, although some of the resort rooms have very comfortable arm chairs that open up into a single bed.  It may be possible to open the bed out and lean back on the back of the chair, although this would not be a reclined position.

One of the companies that is an approved Electronic Convenience Vehicle rental companies with Walt Disney World also rents reclining lift chairs.  The company, CARE Medical, is located in Orlando, and will deliver the chairs to your resort room.  While I have not personally used them, and I do not know of anyone who has, their website indicates the chairs are used for people who are unable to lay flat while sleeping.  Google their website and see if they might be just what you need.

    Happy vacation planning!
