Hello WDW Moms!!! I am planning our next trip to WDW and was thinking about joining the DVC. I am curious if anyone on the panel is a member and if they find it worthwhile. It's a huge purchase and big step for us. I want to save as much $ as possible.

Hi, Natalia!  There are quite a few of us "Moms" who are also Disney Vacation Club members.  As you will hear many people say, my biggest regret about being a DVC member is that I didn't join sooner!

We bought our first contract four years ago, and now own three contracts at three DVC properties.  For my family of five, it was a no brainer.  As my girls got older, we were either going to need to book deluxe accommodations - which we couldn't always afford to do - or book two rooms, which can be pricey, even at the value resorts.  I found myself booking my vacations based on where I could get the best deal, either through an annual passholder rate or a bounce back offer.

With DVC, I know that I am going to be in a beautiful resort, have access to a table service restaurant and wonderful shops, and I know that I will always be able to accommodate my whole family.  I also like the flexibility to use more points on a larger villa so I can still bring extended family!

Another thing I love is the full kitchen and the room to spread out in the one bedroom and larger villas.  We actually save quite a bit of money by preparing breakfast in our villa and keeping snacks and bottled water in the refrigerator.  I also pack lighter, as I have the washer and dryer in the room.  That's saving me a ton of baggage fees at the airport!

I think for my family, this has been a wonderful way to budget for the kind of vacation we want.  We've also used our points on the Disney Cruise and to visit the beach.  It's been fabulous for us!

    Good luck with your decision!
