Hi. I have a WDW package for March 25-31, 2024. We’ll be staying at Pop Century. I heard that Resort guests get discounts on MagicBand+. Is that true? If so, when, how do I purchase MagicBands for my group and receive the discount?

    Hi Cynthia,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m glad to hear you are planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort next March! Currently, Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel have the option to order their MagicBand or MagicBand+ in advance at a pre-arrival discount! At this time, this offer is only available to Guests with an address within the United States.

To order your MagicBands, log in to your My Disney Experience account on a web browser and find “My MagicBands and Cards.” Here you’ll see a list of any MagicBands you already have, and you should see the option to create a new order associated with your upcoming Disney Resort hotel reservation.

It is important to know that you can only submit this order one time, so everyone in your party who is ordering a MagicBand must make their selection before you complete your purchase. Click on each Guest’s name and select a MagicBand from the current offerings. You will also have the option to customize the back of the MagicBand with each Guest’s name. Guests who do not wish to order a MagicBand may decline one at this time as well.

If you complete your order at least 11 or more days prior to your arrival, they will be shipped to your home. If you order between 10 and 6 days before your check-in date, you can pick up your MagicBands at the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel.

The MagicBand and MagicBand+ designs offered on the website are always changing, Cynthia. If you each find a design you like, I suggest ordering as soon as possible as it may not be available to pre-order at a later date.

If you aren’t able to pre-order, or decide you want a MagicBand once you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, you can purchase a MagicBand or MagicBand+ from most merchandise locations throughout the Resorts and theme parks! My family recently purchased a MagicBand+ in the parks for my son and I was able to easily link it to his My Disney Experience account right after purchasing so he could use it for the rest of the day!

The MagicBand+ typically comes with a partial charge so it should last for a couple of hours until you return to your Resort to fully charge it. We charge ours overnight and have had no issues with the battery lasting for a whole day of fun in the parks the next day!

I hope this was helpful, Cynthia! The MagicBand+ is so much fun to use in the parks as it interacts with the character statues and attractions. I hope you find the design that suits your vacation style! If you have any future planning questions, please visit us again at planDisney!
