We are going to WDW in Oct '08 with our 8 yr old son and almost 5 year old daughter. We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Should we go to the Hoop de Doo or the Mickey's Backyard BBQ? They sound very similar. This is our first trip to WDW!

Congratulations on your first trip - how exciting!  You will love the Wilderness Lodge.  It's one of our favorite resorts and we stay there frequently.

Hands down I'd recommend the Hoop-Dee-Doo.  It's a show (that really involves the audience!) and is great fun.  Mickey's Backyard BBQ is a character meal.  There is more playful interaction there than at other character meals, but it isn't a show like the Hoop-Dee-Doo is.  I also think the food is better at the Hoop-Dee-Doo, though it's not really about the food, it's about the fun.

    Have a great vacation!
