We are going to be at WDW in Nov. and still can't decide where to stay! We are torn between the convenience of the monorail with Poly and the pool at the BC. Is the bus ride to MK a real big inconvenience when compared to the perks of the pool? Kids 4 &

I have dear friends, both Harvard-educated attorneys and frequent Disney travelers who have spent hundreds of hours debating this topic. There are benefits to both locations, which is what makes the choice so hard.

The benefits of the monorail hotel are stronger with younger kids. If you have kids who are 100% dependent on the stroller, and you will be spending most of your time at the Magic Kingdom, then you should stay at a monorail hotel. If you have a child who will be napping in the stroller or who is unable to sit in his/her own seat on a bus, then the ease of rolling the child onto the monorail cannot be overemphasized. However, once you're solidly into the preschool years, that must-have-the-monorail argument is more shaky.

We began our frequent stays at the Beach Club when our youngest kids were age four. By that point, we were dividing our time pretty equally among all four theme parks. The Beach Club is convenient to two of the parks (Epcot and DHS). On the days we went to the Magic Kingdom, I never found the bus to be any problem at all. We would enjoy several hours in the park and then return to the hotel around lunch time for a swim.

The Yacht & Beach Club pool is much better than any of the others at WDW. You could easily spend hours digging in the sand, riding the slide, and floating on the lazy river. Nothing else at WDW compares to this. Then in the evening, you have dozens of restaurants within a quick walk, including all the Epcot World Showcase restaurants, all the Boardwalk/Swan/Dolphin restaurants, plus the evening entertainment on the Boardwalk. We LOVE having an evening meal at one of the countries and then taking a leisurely stroll back to the Beach Club. It is a pleasant and relaxing way to end the day.

I have stayed in nearly all the WDW deluxe hotels, but we always go back to the Beach Club, for the pool, but also for the many dining choices and the ease of travel to two of the four theme parks.
