I will be going to WDW next week alone with my 4 & 7yo boys. Will I have a problem fitting the 3 of us on a lot of rides? Can we still do the parks if it rains? Any advice for a single mom to on how to stay sane there for 6days? Hahaha Thanks!

    Hi Cara,

No worries. You can do it AND have a great time!

There are very few rides at WDW where fitting three people into a ride vehicle will be any sort of an issue. Most of those are thrill-type rides which your youngest child would likely not be tall enough to ride anyway. The only real issue I can see for you would be on Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story Mania. These are both highly appealing to young boys. The three of you could squeeze (uncomfortably) into one ride vehicle, but there are only two game controllers. The best solution here would be for the boys to ride together and for you to be in the car behind them, but you have to assess your own comfort with this. There is an in-depth article on this topic on the independent website blog.touringplans.com. Search for "Avoiding the Odd Man Out at Walt Disney World."

The WDW theme parks certainly stay open in the rain. A very few of the outdoor attractions (Dumbo, for example) might halt operation for a few minutes if there were lightening in the area, but most everything else will be open. I often find that the parks are extremely enjoyable in the rain because many guests decide to leave and the lines typically become shorter.

There are child care centers at several of the WDW hotels (open to all guests). You may want to consider booking an evening or two for your boys there to give yourself a break for a few hours. Also, be sure to book any must-do meals as far in advance as possible. This will cut down on waiting and possible disappointment.

We're happy to provide more information about any of this. Just let us know what you need.
