WDW MK is 45! I have started initial planning for WDW MK 50! Are special events planned for an anniversary such as this? When is the best/slow time to go to WDW and what might we expect? I know its very early, but I love to plan our visits to WDW!

    Hi, Betty!
Wow, I'm so impressed with your planning skills! Thanks for reaching out to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to help think ahead for your visit in five years.

Here's what I know. Walt Disney World Resort is really great at celebrating. I have no idea what type of celebrations will happen in five years, but I know just by looking at Disneyland's 60th anniversary, special things will take place.

If you want to think about the best times of the year to visit, I have two times of the year that are traditionally the clearest when it comes to crowd sizes. September is a great time because most families are just getting back into the school mode. January is also a great time because families just wrapped up holiday travel. If you are trying to time that out with Disney World's anniversary, January would be a little more in the middle of the celebration (since it will kick off in October 2021) and a September 2022 visit would put you at the resort in the final month of the year-long celebration.

I hope that gives you a few things to think about as you start planning a magical visit! Let me know if I can help brainstorm with you on any additional topics!

I’ve visited Disneyland and Walt Disney World multiple times and it’s fed into my belief that you’re never too old to have fun. I run when I can and recently earned my runDisney Coast to Coast medal! I also love photography and founded an online special needs community. Learn More About Jen
