Hey, Peter! Welcome to planDisney.
If you want to ride around in style, the
Minnie Van service is the way to roll. These roomy vehicles are magically themed to add that extra sprinkle of pixie dust to your
Walt Disney World Resort trip. They fit up to 6 Guests and are driven by friendly Cast Members. One of the benefits of using this service is that each vehicle is equipped with 2 child safety seats. The driver can install these for you as needed. As a Disney dad, I really appreciate this feature.
Peter, unfortunately, the Minnie Van service currently only provides transportation around Walt Disney World Resort. For example, if you have a craving for one of those delicious Original Chocolate Chip Cookies from
Gideon's Bakehouse, you can take a Minnie Van from your Disney Resorts Collection hotel to
Disney Springs. However, this service does not take Guests off-site. Therefore, if you'd like to get to and from the airport, you can use one of the following options:
There are two
shuttle services that can transport you to and from The Most Magical Place on Earth. Mears Connect is a service that I've personally used in the past and I had a good experience with them. In fact, I'm also planning on using them again next spring. Sunshine Flyer is another option. I've heard they have some pretty good deals if you keep checking their website and social media feeds.
If you'd like something with a bit more flexibility, a
rideshare service, like Uber or Lyft, might be a better option for you. Simply download their respective apps and make a booking at a time that works best for you. The advantage of using Uber/Lyft over a shuttle service is that you can leave when you're ready and you don't have to wait for other Guests. You'll also be taken straight to your Disney Resort instead of possibly having to stop at multiple Disney Resorts along the way. However, I don't know about you, but I think rideshare services have gotten quite expensive these days. So I don't use them as much as I used to due to the price increase.
One final suggestion would be to consider renting a car. There are a number of rental car companies at Orlando International Airport. And since overnight
parking is free for Guests staying property, this is a more affordable option than in the past. You might enjoy the freedom of being able to drive to the theme parks instead of waiting for Disney's buses.
I hope that's helpful, Peter. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.
