Going to WDW in May 2012 with 4 and 2 year old. Not sure if we should do the dining plan or quick service or not do a plan. Very concerned about kids sitting down for a meal. Are there healthy options at quick service? Thank you.

Hi Barbara! Congratulations on your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World! I'm a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan (DDP) and we purchase it each time we visit. WDW does an exellent job keeping the children entertained while waiting for their food at the table service locations. One time when we ate at Coral Reef at Epcot, the waiter led my children on a hunt for Hidden Mickey's while they waited for their food. Also consider booking character meals, as they definitely keep kids of all ages entertained! My kids love Crystal Palace (with Winnie the Pooh and friends) at the Magic Kingdom, Tusker House in Animal Kingdom and Chef Mickey's at The Contemporary. One of the main reasons we get the DDP is so my kids can dine with the princesses, Mickey and more! You've also touched on my passion, which is healthy eating while at Walt Disney World! WDW does an EXCELLENT job offering plenty of healthy options at both their quick and table service locations. Most locations offer fruit, which you can substitute fruit for french fries or dessert. There are also many excellent salads on the menu. I particularly love Peco's Bills at Magic Kingdom because you can load up your plate with lettuce and salsa for a delicious side salad and get grapes instead of the cake for dessert. Yum! Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with! Magically, Stacy
