Hello! Going 2 WDW in March 09. Can you please tell me the advantages of staying at a Moderate? We have always stayed at Value - DH, DD13 and DD7 don't want to upgrade due to theming, but I would really like to. Thanks for the panel - we love it!

    Angela,

Well I'm with you on this one, I'd take the moderate as well.  Here are my reasons for preferring a moderate resort:

-the room is bigger, and includes a refrigerator and coffee maker.
-there are more bus stops!  Instead of just one at the front of the resort, there are several scattered around the property, so you never have to walk very far to and from a bus stop.
-they are smaller.  The properties aren't as big as the value resorts are, so it doesn't feel as crowded and chaotic as the value resorts sometimes do.  This is especially noticeable in the dining areas.
-table service restaurants available.  I don't always like to eat fast food, so I love having the option of enjoying a relaxing meal right at the resort.
-the pools!  The themeing at the pools is great, and they all have waterslides which are very fun.  Caribbean Beach has just been completely renovated, with all new rooms and a gorgeous new zero-entry pool!
-hidden charm.  Each moderate resort has something unique to offer that you can't find at the values, be it a horse-drawn carriage ride at Port Orleans, an upscale quick service experience at Coronado Springs, or the fun beach activities at Caribbean Beach.

Of course, all of these are just the things that I love about the moderate resorts.  I do think it's worth trying at least once, to see what is the best fit for your family.  Every family is different, and if yours is happy to stay at a value then go for it!  That money saved will come in handy when you go souvenir shopping, I'm sure!
