We are going to be in WDW this March celebrating my DD's 18th b-day & HS graduation. She LOVES turtles & I have seen something about adopting a sea turtle/ nest. Can you give me info on this? Do you know the price & what the adopter gets?

    Hello Jackie,

Congratulations on your daughter's upcoming graduation and an early Happy Birthday to her as well. My daughter is passionate about monkeys so I connected with your question about adopting a sea turtle nest and knew I had to research this and see what I could find.

Guests at Disney's Animal Kingdom can help support Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund by adopting a sea turtle's nest. At the time of this information, the fee to adopt was $50 and proceeds go towards benefiting Florida's sea-turtle conservation efforts. Patrons receive an adoption certificate with a nest number, the nests are located at Disney's Vero Beach resort. Your adoption is registered about a week after and Guest can expect news on their hatchlings about two months after the nest has been laid. You can follow the conservation progress on your nest by heading to Disney's Worldwide Conservation Fund Adopt a Nest link

At Disney's Animal Kingdom you can support the Adopt-A-Nest program at Conservation Station's Out of the Wild merchandise shop.  Allears.net had some more information on it as well. If you head to their site search adopt a sea turtle and you will find a nice article as well.

I love seeing our children grow up and wanting to make a difference and conservation is such a wonderful way. I hope your upcoming trip is magical and memorable and let me know if I can be of any further pixie dusted assistance.
