We are going to WDW in June, our son who is 6, is very artistic. He loves to draw.. Are there any special programs or classes offered by Disney"s animation studio for children? We are looking for something to really encourage his creativity.

    Hi Christina,

Your artsy son is sure to love the Magic of Disney Animation attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios. They have classes there throughout the day where guests can learn to draw a Disney character. The characters change with each session, so you can keep going back to learn more and more. There's no need to sign up in advance. Just go to the attraction and ask when the next class is. Then run several times an hour.

You'll also find that some of the merchandise shops, such as the Art of Disney shop at Epcot, host real Disney artists who will come decorate merchandise. You're welcome to watch them work.

Many of the merchandise shops also sell books for children detailing how to draw Disney characters. I like using these myself!

And you may want to swing by the new Art of Animation resort which is opening this spring. There are no classes there, but it might be fun for him to see HUGE animation drawings on the side of a building. Maybe those will be his drawings someday!

    Have a great trip!
