We are going to WDW in July staying at POP CENTURY..Is there a wheelchair accessible taxi or bus that could take us to a Wal-Mart store ? How far in advance do you need to book a taxi?

Hello, Eva! Thank you for bringing us your question. You are super smart to start planning your vacation a few months out in advance.

Just like you, I also love the idea of having a store nearby where I can quickly go and grab something if I need to. You can always ask for help at the front desk and they will call a taxi for you. You can also use one of the popular taxi apps on your mobile device to request one, or you can choose to ride over to your favorite store in style aboard an adorable Minnie Van! Let me introduce to you this relatively new service that works with the Lyft app, which you need to have downloaded on your phone. Once you open the app from Disney's Pop Century Resort, it'll prompt you to select where you are going. You will follow the steps just like you would on any other taxi app, and since it is connected to your credit card, you do not even need to worry about having cash available. The best of all, though, is that Minnie Van drivers are friendly Disney Cast Members who are trained to take you where you need to be with a smile. Minnie Van vehicles can accommodate Guests with standard wheelchairs, motorized vehicles, and ECVs; however, please be aware that additional wait time may occur.

Keep in mind, Eva, that you may not need to leave your resort at all. You will find a variety of items at your resort gift shop, but if you are looking for broader variety, you may order those items online and have them shipped to your room. There is a $5 handling fee/per package to pay (*price subject to change), but it will save you time, and even if you are not in your room, Bell Services will receive it for you and will keep your items refrigerated if needed.

I hope these thoughts are helpful. Please come back with more questions if you need to.

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
