WDW July 09 from Australia. I know i have to book dining reservations over the phone. What do I get to confirm my bookings, how to enter the parks early for b/fast? Do I book all together over the phone? Is it a problem calling from o/seas ? Deposit?

Disney is currently undergoing a major upgrade of it's reservation systems for dining, tours, and recreation. In the not too distant future, it will be possible to book meals online. No official date has been released for this yet, we've mostly heard reports that it will occur sometime between late November and late December, but this could change. Dining reservations can normally be made 180 days in advance, so it is possible that you will be able to make online reservations for a trip in July.

If however, you end up calling on the phone, you can make as many reservations as you want in one call. i have made reservations for more than 20 meals in a single call. If you prefer, you can make your bookings in multiple calls over a period of time. There is no problem calling Disney Dining from overseas. If you make your reservations on the telephone, you will be given a confirmation number for each meal. You should make sure to write these numbers down, as well as the time and location of each reservation, as you will not be getting any confirmation in the mail. You can, however, ask the front desk of your Disney resort to print out your reservation list when you get to your hotel.

There are only a handful of dining experiences at WDW that require a deposit or credit card to hold the reservation. These include Cinderella's Royal Table, California Grill, the dinner shows and a few others. If you are planning to attend these meals, you should have a credit card in hand when making your reservations. If you have an early character meal in a theme park, go to the park about 20-30 minutes in advance of your reservation time. Look for an entrance turnstile marked something like "character breakfasts." There will be a cast member with a clipboard who will ask for your name or reservation number. If you're on the list, they will let you use your park admission ticket to enter the park and will direct you to your restaurant.

Hope that helps clarify things :-)
