    We were at WDW in January of this year and Typhoon Lagoon was closed for refurbishment. It was also unusually cold. Do you know if it closes every January or not? Would like to go back in 01-2010.

    Historically, the two water parks have taken turns undergoing maintenance in the winter. Typically one of the two water parks will be closed during January/February. (At least one of the two water parks will be active at all times of the year.) The schedule for this coming winter has not yet been announced. I am often at WDW during January and February and have not seen a real pattern to the refurbishment closures. My guess is that since Typhoon Lagoon just experienced a longer down time, that it would be the water park open in January of this year, but really, that's just a guess.
